2,855 professional visitors of 31 countries discussed business with 150 exhibitors from 19 countries.

Organised with the official support of the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies and of Marco Export - Moroccan State Agency for Export Promotion, plast expo 2013 was a real success for both, exhibitors and visitors alike.  

Indeed, during the 4 days of professional meetings and debate, the event gathered 2,855 professional visitors of 31 countries and 150 exhibitors from 19 countries. Exhibitors showed themselves satisfied with the results of their participation and praised the high quality of the visitors.

plast expo 2013 once again confirmed its status as Morocco’s and North-Africa’s most important meeting point for the plastics and packaging industry. Market leaders from Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Kuwait, Morocco, Portugal, Qatar, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the USA presented their innovations.

It was against the backdrop of massive investments into the North-African plastics and packaging industry and a huge increase in demand for plastics and chemical products, that the Moroccan Plastics Association FMP in cooperation with Forum 7 and fairtrade organised plast expo 2013. The 5th International Plastics, Rubber, Composites, Packaging and Conditioning Trade Fair for Morocco and North Africa took place at the Casablanca International Fairgrounds on 19 - 22 June 2013.

Valuable program of conferences. At the occasion of plast expo 2013, a valuable program of conferences ran alongside the exhibition.

Strong Moroccan presence. By far the largest participation of course came out of the host country Morocco. With 52 exhibitors Moroccan companies head the ranking.

Spain Guest of Honor 2013. After an agreement between AVEP-the Valencia Association of Plastic Producers and the organisers, Spain has been appointed as Guest of Honor of plast expo 2013. On this occasion 12 Spanish exhibitors presented their innovations in plastics and packaging, in the frame of the Spanish pavilion organised by AVEP. In addition, for the Catalan companies, ceam-the Center for Studies and Consultancy in Metallurgy organised a commercial mission, with the support of ACCIO-the Catalan Exports Association and the Spanish Plastics Center.

Italy also left a heavy footprint at plast expo 2013 as 14 Italian exhibitors were present on 150 sqm. The Italian group was supported by PROMOS of Milan.

Further internationalisation of plast expo. For the very first time, 13 Qatari plastic product exporters joined Qatar Development Bank (QDB)’s export  development agency Tasdeer at plast expo 2013. Qatar participated in the event with an exclusive pavilion covering 144 sqm.

France was present with 14 exhibitors.

Also for the very first time, 6 leading players from Portugal were showing high quality injection moulds, reliable recycling machinery and raw materials. During the first two months of 2013 Portuguese exports to Morocco have grown by 48%, having placed the country in the Top 10 Portuguese export destinations and in the Top 3 export nations outside of Europe.

Turkey participated with 7 leaders in plastics machinery, Germany with 6 companies.

Hosted Buyers Program. Exhibitors especially welcomed the initiative of FMP and the Moroccan state agency for export promotion, Maroc Export, who had put a hosted-buyers’ program into effect. As a result, high-profile trade visitors from Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Tunisia could be welcomed to discuss business with plast expo 2013 exhibitors.

The Online Market Place. NEW: For the first time the organisers launched an interactive Online Market Place for plast expo 2013 connecting buyers and sellers 24/7. The plast expo 2013 Online Market Place is an interactive online community that allows exhibitors and visitors to connect before, during and after the event.

Full institutional backing. The event enjoyed the official support of the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies.

UFI Approved Event. In 2009, the organisers have “earned the ‘UFI Approved Event’ quality label for plast expo as certification of the highest level of professional exhibition standards” (UFI-The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).
